As longtime readers of DDL know I am part of the wonderful team that runs the cloth diaper non-profit Giving Diapers, Giving Hope. This 501c3 is celebrating 6 Years of Service this April. It began by collecting diaper donations at the very first Great Cloth Diaper Change and has been operating ever since.
We wanted to help more families get started with cloth diapers so the next 60 families who apply for assistance and who are approved will not have to pay the usual $15 shipping fee. Receiving free cloth diapers is already a wonderful way to save money but the free shipping is icing on the cake.
Here is what you need to know (taken from the GDGH blog)
If you would like to apply for our program to receive this benefit here is what you will need to know before you do:
- The same process for application and approval are in place- you must still fit within our guidelines to be approved. For more on who is eligible see our FAQ.
- You will know you are one of the 60 families who receive free shipping only after you apply and are approved. If you get an email immediately after qualification approval that your payment has processed then you received the free shipping.
- Approved clients who receive diapers at no shipping fee to them are still responsible for whatever the cost of shipping is to return the diapers once they are finished using them.
You can apply for assistance here: Apply for GDGH
Things have been going so well for this charity over the last 2 years and I have Maria Moser of Change-Diapers, the team at Thirsties, and the team at Kelly’s Closet to thank for why. A large part of why we are able to cover the shipping cost is thanks to the money raised from the “Hope” diaper print that Thirsties sold last year as well.
If you need assistance please apply. If you are in the position to help please consider making a donation to GDGH in honor of their 6 years of service. This year the anniversary snuck up on us and we didn’t plan an elaborate fundraiser. We would appreciate a few moments of your time to click “donate” to help us continue providing this valuable service to families across the US.
