This review is also a product of my having forgotten many of the covers I had planned to use while at ABC Kids. Bummis let me take 2 of the new Super Snap Wraps even though the prints had not been released yet. I used them with my diaper service prefolds, and again at home with my own fitteds, prefolds, and flats.
Ease of Use ✩✩✩✩ With only 2 snaps per tab, and nice LARGE snaps, this cover is practically as easy to use as any Aplix cover. There isn’t a lot of guess work as to which snap to close. Being that the Super Snap is sized there aren’t a million options.
Bang for the Buck ✩✩✩✩✩ Bummis=quality. They have a stellar rep for long lasting, well made products and every item I have tried from them reflects this, including the new Super Snap. You can find them for 12.00 in white, 13.50 for the print versions. These covers are made in Canada and the materials are sourced from North America. They are meant to withstand many, many washes and drying. The Super Snap is extra durable with 2 mil PUL and 2 layers of polyester. You only need a few to get by, but will have to buy each size.
Performance ✩✩✩✩✩ Nothing is getting past these covers as long as you have the fit correct on the legs and tummy. You won’t find any leaking around vulnerable places like the tag or snaps either. A well made cover is a must for night time cloth diapering and this one qualifies.
Fit ✩✩✩✩✩ The Super Snap cloth diaper cover comes in 5 sizes, and the Newborn size does accomodate umbilical cords with a snap down. I reviewed the Medium which fit well over prefolds and our bulkiest fitteds overnight. The rise was at just the right height for us at the moment. I did notice a few red marks on his legs but not all of the time. The elastic is covered in binding and these red marks weren’t the variety that concern me.
Overall: I for one couldn’t be hapier that Bummis has a snap option. I would also love to see a Snapping version of the Super Brite since it is a wipeable PUL cover. The Super Snap doesn’t come in all of the prints that the Super Whisper Wrap does but the Rocket is one of my favs and it just happens to come in that print. Bummis just make great covers and this is another one. You just have to touch it to appreciate the quality, but if you can’t touch one in person before buying just take my word for it.
