Ease of Use ✰✰✰✰ The snap version of this diaper gets a 4, but it is one of the easiest snapping diapers around since there are only a total of 4 snaps to secure for each change. If you buy the velcro version it would be a 5. The snap down rise is simple to figure out. The hardest part of the diaper is actually figuring out how to snap your one size insert, but you only have to adjust that once until your baby changes sizes. When washing your inserts you can leave them snapped, but they usually turn inside out. You can just turn them back and avoid unsnapping and resnapping.
Bang for the Buck ✰✰✰ I bought these because they were so much better looking that other one size diapers. I loved that the snap colors matched the PUL, unlike many other brands. I also loved the snapping option rather than just velcro. It is pricey at 26.00 though. The insert is a good portion of that price since it has two sides hemp and one microfiber. I will say that this diaper is extremely well made, and it may be worth the price to know that it will last a very long time. Mine still looks brand new after almost 8 months of use.
Performance ✰✰✰✰ I had quite a few leaks when I first started using this diaper, and I am still not sure why. Now that my son is larger we haven’t had as many issues. Some of the leaks came when he slept on his side, which may be due to the way the diaper snaps. But, like I said, in recent history we haven’t had any leaks. Sometimes you have to get past the learning curve on diapers.
Fit ✰✰✰✰ I love that Blueberry doesn’t fool itself into thinking their one size will fit a newborn. The 10 pound range is pretty accurate, but it could start fitting as late as 11-13 depending on your baby’s size. The legs are great fitting, not too tight or too loose. With velcro you can get a better fit, but the snaps work fine as well. The only thing I really don’t like about the diaper is the way the fabric looks when it is snapped down. In the video you can see the strange gap.
Overall- I have mixed feelings about this diaper. First, it is so pricey that I expect it to be outstanding. Yes, it functions and holds in the messes. But at what cost? If the fabric did not do the gapping I might see paying that much since the diaper is otherwise very attractive. You can get some really cute colors and prints, which is great. If you want to try this diaper, I suggest trying to find a used one first. If it works for you, then the price could very well be justified!
