How many times has your litltle one grabbed your necklace and promptly stuck it in their mouths?  Teething Bling is an ingeniuos creation from Smartmom Jewelry.  They make pendants and bangles that babies are meant to chew on.  They are made from a safe and non toxic material and come in a variety of colors.

I bought my Teething Bling after my friend got one for her daughter to play with. I saw how much her little girl loved to play with the pendant, which was sized perfectly to fit in a baby’s palm, and of course, how much she loved to chew on it.

As soon as I opened the box and put it on Fletcher grabbed it and it somehow found its way into his little mouth.  The strand is long enough that you don’t have to worry too much about being choked to death while they use the necklace and they are being held close.

I chose the black pendant since I wear a lot of darker colors, and I wanted to be able to match my necklace with lots of outfits.  The only way you would know it is meant for chewing is to feel it.  Even looking up close there isn’t a way to tell it is soft and rubbery!  It even has some glitter to it to make it appear like a stone.

One of the reasons I love this necklace so much is the fact that it is really comfortable.  The strand is soft, and if I wear my son in the ergo and he falls asleep on my chest, I don’t have to move the necklace around to the side or back.  Other necklaces are not flat and will either be really uncomfortable for him to lay on, or leave marks all over his face.  Since the thread is soft, when he tugs on the necklace my poor neck doesn’t get rubbed raw.

I wore my necklace for a flight recently.  While it didn’t occupy him the entire time, it did give him something to do with his hands while nursing and made him less likely to pop off, exposing my breast to the folks around me on the plane.
