Ecobubs Wool Pocket Video and Review

I began drooling over the Ecobubs Wool Pocket long before it was available in the US. In fact, I featured it in a post about cloth diapers around the world over a year ago. When it hit the states and I was asked to review it I said yes of course. Their striped diaper is stunning to look at. So classic. The diaper itself has an exterior of New Zealand wool that is washable, and has a hidden layer of PUL. It is side snapping and a sized diaper that comes with 1 super absorbent microfiber insert.

Ease of Use ✩✩✩✩ I would say that the hardest thing about using the EcoBubs would simply be stuffing it. The insert included with the diaper is a bit large and the pocket opening is in the front so the opening is more narrow. With the insert being so fluffy, at least for now, you have to really take time to make sure it is laying flat. When it comes to actually placing it onto your baby it isn’t hard but side snaps do take some getting used to. Since there is some fluff with the wool I felt the snaps weren’t snapping as tight, as if there was less to grab onto when the snap was pressed, making the snap not have as much to hold onto (look at your snaps next time and how the male/female parts work together and this will make sense). Once you know they do this you are aware and are careful when snapping it closed.
Bang for the Buck ✩✩✩ This diaper is stunning, beautiful, classy, elegant… I mean, for a cloth diaper. And they really play it up with their product photographs. The diaper is pricey at 33.00. What you get is a wool pocket. Not wool in the traditional cloth diaper sense where you are lanolizing it, but you get the look of wool and the added benefit of the breath-ability. It does come with 1 insert. And you are paying a higher price for it being an imported item, except the inserts, which are made in the US. Having just one is nice because it sure is pretty to look at and takes some fantastic photos.
Performance ✩✩✩✩✩ I loved this diaper for overnight. It has 1 mil PUL (read more about PUL) so it is more breathable than some diapers. Then it has wool over it. I used my microfiber inserts for daytime and theirs for nights with success on both counts. I don’t traditionally like pockets at night but we did ok with this one so far.
Fit ✩✩✩✩ I reviewed the Medium, which fits babies 11-27 pounds. The rise was shorter than I am used to for a Medium but it certainly worked. The size settings on the waist looked to go right along with how a Medium should fit as well. Ev has some growing room in it and may never need the Large size before potty learning. Most babies wear Mediums the longest. Their small fits 7-16 lbs and Large is 24 pounds +. The diaper is soft and never left any red marks. It looks very comfortable.
Overall: I should address the washing here. This is Wool, but not “Wool.” You wash it with your regular diapers. The whole thing. Like any pocket you need to remove the insert first but you still wash it with everything else. I tried my best to air dry it but my sitter put it in the dryer twice while I was out and it survived. After the first wash and air dry there were already some fuzzies, as with any knit material like that it will happen. I don’t know that I am sold on it as having more breath-ability than a normal pocket with 1 mil PUL. If you believe that it makes a difference then you will be happy with the diaper as a more breathable night time solution. I’ve never had a problem with my current diapers so maybe this is why it wasn’t noticeable.  The insert, even though it has a lot of layers, dries quickly due to the snapping, circular design. For me, the beauty of this diaper is in just that- the appearance. I am IN LOVE with their stripes and color combinations so I am willing to overlook the price of just one. Would I have a whole stash? No. But 1-2 are quite nice.

GoGreen Champ 2.0 Video and Review

The GoGreen Champ 2.0 is one of those cloth diapers that has been requested over and over. I was reluctant to review it because the price seemed too good to be true (at the  time it was 14.95, aparently there was a price increase at some point to 15.95). It was only after seeing so many positive reviews, not just on blogs but from users on message boards and review forums, that I decided I should give it a chance. Leah contacted me to see if I would review the Champ 2.0 and I agreed. She also sent the Adapt-a-Snap™ to try, a device that turns their snapping diaper into an easier (if you think velcro is easy) to put on and off diaper.

Ease of Use ✩✩✩✩ The GoGreen Champ 2.0 is as easy to use as any other snapping diaper that has the same two row, 3 snaps per tab system. When putting on the baby it is easiest to snap the hip snap first and it usually makes for a better fit than snapping the end first and then going backwards. I did notice it took slightly longer for me to put it on because I would always double check that the back and front flap were both laying flat. It takes a little less time to put on when using the Adapt-a-Snap™. If you leave the insert snapped in, depending on the speed and agitation of your washer, it will stay attached so you don’t have to fish for inserts. Even if it comes undone (like it did for me) you also don’t need to unstuff before washing so that makes it as easy to take off as an AIO. I personally removed the tabs on the Adapt-a-Snap™ before washing the diaper since they would have caught on other diapers without laundry tabs. That adds a tiny bit of time on each end of the wash.
Bang for the Buck ✩✩✩✩✩ This pocket/sleeve/tongue-style AIO hybrid diaper packs a lot of punch into a 15.95 dollar price point. There seems to be a lot of thought to the design, little things that you see in pricier diapers. The diaper costs less partly because it is made in China. I also felt that the lining wasn’t washing up as soft as other diapers which means it is probably a cheaper variety. It isn’t rough, but doesn’t stay as smooth as bumGenius. The insert is also thinner so if you have a heavy wetter expect to need a doubler of some sort (if you don’t have them already it will add to the overall cost.) For me it is still a great deal when you add the dual gussets, the self-unstuffing option, the fun colorful snaps, and the variety of prints and color combos.
Performance ✩✩✩✩ Because my son is not a heavy wetter, even at night, we were fine with the included microfiber insert. They also sent a doubler but we didn’t need to use it. I only experienced a leak when I tried the diaper overnight on one occasion. I do not usually use pockets at night (my explanation why) so in order to keep dry sheets I decided against trying again. I’m sure others use it double stuffed with great success; it just isn’t in me to try it again!
Fit ✩✩✩✩ I would assume this diaper fits bulky on the low range of babies. It does have a cross over snap but in the video you can see the size of the diaper on the smallest setting which isn’t tiny. However, there is a 4 step-rise so it should fit babies up to 40 pounds. Everett used the diaper on the Medium (with two snaps exposed on the rise) and that worked perfect for him. He never had red marks so it was large enough on his chunky thighs. Using the Adapt-a-Snap™ gives you a tiny bit more waist room too, since the tabs still crossed on Ev.
Overall: I know some buyers object to buying diapers made in China. I feel better about these diapers after emailing with the owner, Leah and learning more about her and her family on their About Us page.  Unlike the Ebay diapers or the VERY cheap Chinese diapers, these are somewhere in between that and the pricier brands and there is a face behind  the brand. Even 15.95 isn’t extremely cheap, but they have a less expensive line that cost 9.99 so in my mind I mixed the two up often. Strictly speaking from how the diaper worked I would definitely give these high marks and suggest them to others. I also have to mention that they do have a line of diapers made by WAHM’s in the US called Mud Butt for GoGreen.

Charlie Banana 2-in-1 One Size (New Version) Video and Review

{email subscribers, click over to see the embedded video}

I have already reviewed the older version of the Charlie Banana 2-in-2 One Size cloth diaper.  Now, the sizing mechanism is new and improved.  Rather than using button hole elastic, the Charlie Banana now uses a sliding adjustment similar to that of a bra.  I LOVE this new update and it is probably the easiest of the elastic sizing cloth diapers out currently.

Ease of Use ✩✩✩✩ I’m going to say it, to date this is the easiest elastic sizing One Size diaper I have tried. The markings to designate size are easy to follow (no need to read what a 5 is) and the adjuster moves easily back and forth. There is no need to dig deep to find the elastic either. Stuffing the pocket isn’t too bad, there is a generous sized opening for 1 or two inserts. You can find disposable inserts for these diapers, making them a hybrid system if you are traveling. They are easy to lay in under the flat pocket flap.

Bang for the Buck ✩✩✩ The Solid Colors run 20.88 and the Prints are 21.88. They are more than many other similar pockets available. I will say that they are made extremely well. The older versions of their diapers that I own are still functioning and looking great after a year of use.

Performance ✩✩✩✩ The inserts included with a Charlie Banana One Size cloth diaper are really thick (not too thick) and are absorbent enough alone for our use. I can use the Large insert with the diaper sized to the Medium and it fits and holds up well. I don’t have a heavy wetter, FYI. I didn’t use this diaper overnight because I don’t like pockets at night. I used fitteds and covers. Nothing personal, I just didn’t take a chance. We didn’t have a single leak with this diaper.

Fit ✩✩✩✩ I tried the larger of the Medium settings on my first try and it was exactly what I needed. Even if I had needed to make an adjustment it wouldn’t have been too difficult. The tabs meet in the middle, and there is a cross over snap if you need it. The diaper has good stretch whe nyou are putting it on the baby and I felt like I got a great fit every time. The hip snap is in a good spot, but since the male snaps are on the tabs if the wearer gets too large for those snaps farther back to be fastened they could touch the skin. I can’t say if this is an issue or not. The One Size doesn’t seem to get as big as their Sized Large diaper, but since many kids never wear a Large it might not be a problem for many parents. It sizes up pretty small, and I used the older OS on my newborn and it did work. The crotch is also narrower than many other brands.

Overall: I am over the moon excited about such a stupid smart sizing system. They hit this one out of the park! Charlie Banana One Size cloth diapers might make me a fan of elastic sizing one size diapers again. There are no snaps to be seen on the front which is nice. Their PUL feels nice to the touch, and sturdy. The fleece washes well in my experience. I’m thrilled that I was able to meet Gaelle and the Charlie Banana team; they were all incredibly nice and excited about their new product. The fact that they have been able to get Charlie Banana to many mainstream stores like Babies r Us is amazing. Some people argue that cloth shouldn’t be sold in bog box stores, but it creates awareness that small businesses just can’t match. Great diaper, great quality, cute colors and prints!

Mo Dia One Size Pocket Video and Review

A few months ago I reviewed the Mo Dia One Size Pocket. My original thoughts on the diaper were pretty positive; it worked great, the design was stylish and unique, and the included hemp fleece soaker was amazing. The downside was the sizing; the waist was a little too small and the rise a little too short. I didn’t expect it to last Everett more than a few more months- how would it last until potty training?

After that review and other customers agreeing with that sentiment the two ladies behin Mo Dia went back to the drawing board. They now have a new pattern for their One Size Pocket that addressed both issues. The sizing is more realistic and more like other OS diapers. I have a video and review for the new Mo Dia. if you would liek to compare to my old review and video you can visit this link.

Ease of Use ✩✩✩ The Mo Dia I reviewed is a snapping diaper with 2 snaps on each tab, 4 snaps total to close. The rise, like many other One Size diapers, has a 3 step snapping adjustment. This is only applicable when you need to size up or down so you don’t have to do it for each change. The insert is one long piece of hemp fleece. The simplicity is genius. You fold it to the desired length, and place the most layers folded over where you need them (front for boy/tummy sleeper and middle for girl). The folding does take longer than just using a sized or pre-snapped OS insert which is why it gets 3 stars.
Bang for the Buck ✩✩✩✩ A Mo Dia runs about 21$ with the hemp insert included. These diapers have a very custom look, even those that aren’t made to order. The snaps usually coordinate well with the fabric options. Some have full PUL outer, some have PUL bodies and cotton knit over PUL tabs, and some are the reverse. Now that the sizing is larger it is even more of a good investment than the previous version.
Performance ✩✩✩✩ I wish I could tell you how much these inserts rock my socks. They look so simple, and they are, but work better than most other included inserts. So, you have to fold them to size… not a HUGE deal. I’ve used this diaper for longer naps and daytime for Everett (10 months old) and nights for my toddler (almost 3) with no leaking or wicking problems. No red marks either!
Fit ✩✩✩✩ When you fix one problem you potentially cause another. The previous Mo Dia sized up nice and tiny and would likely be a good fit for very small babies. Adding more to the rise and width makes it look bulkier. I have not tried it on a new/small baby but I’m just basing on what I have seen. On Everett, who is 20 pounds and 10 months old, he still had one more snap on the rise and a snap on each side for the second snap in on the tab. After that the male end of the snap would touch skin, however I don’t think that is going to happen. And since he is pretty wide I don’t know how many others it would happen to either.  They aren’t the trimmest cloth diaper out there but I don’t mind fluffy.  Just poutting that out there.
Overall: The fact that Mo Dia adjusted their pattern based on user feedback is incredibly awesome and proves how much they care about their product and customers. The new Mo Dia is just as cute but with more growing room. The quality of the diaper is obvious, the stitching is clean and I haven’t seen any loose threads. They come up with the most adorable color and print combinations too!

Intro to Cloth Diapers: What is a Tongue Style All-in-One?

Intro to Cloth Diapers: What is a Tongue Style All-in-One?

In this installment of my ongoing series: Introduction to Cloth Diapers, I tackle the “Tongue-Style All-in-One.” This might be another term you are unfamiliar with since it doesn’t represent a large number of diapers.

A “Tongue-Style All-in-One” is a cloth diaper that is not quite a pocket, not quite an All-in-One, but has the attributes of both.  There is an “insert” that stays attached, making it a one piece diaper, but it agitates loose in the wash which makes for a cleaner diaper and quicker drying time.

Hopefully the video above explains this better than words can.

I was considering making “flapping” tongue all-in-ones (ex. Gro Via AIO) a part of this category but they will get their own.

The two diapers that exemplify the Tongue Style All-in-One are the Kissaluvs Marvel AIO and Tots Bots (Bummis) Easy Fit.

Both diapers have long inserts that are attached to the diaper but are also stuffed into a pocket.

Like a pocket (what is a pocket?), the insert will be outside of the diaper during washing, however it remains attached.  This means you won’t be searching for the matching insert in your laundry basket.

Like a pocket, you will have to re-stuff the insert inside but this takes very minimal effort and time on your part compared to a pocket.

Unlike a pocket diaper (but like a Sleeve Diaper) you don’t need to remove the insert before washing the diaper since it agitates out in the washer.

Both of these diapers I have mentioned are pricier than most pocket diapers.  The Kissaluvs Marvel AIO is 22.95 and the Tots Bots Easy Fit is 23.95.  Both can be found at my affiliate, Kelly’s Closet.

If you have missed any installments of my Introduction to Cloth Diapers Series you can still catch up: Intro to Cloth Diapers.

Tiny Tush Elite 1.1 Review

Tiny Tush Elite 1.1 Review

I have had a relationship with Charlene, the inventor and owner of Tiny Tush, for almost as long as my website as been around.  (forever, right?!)  Before I even introduce the diaper I have to say that Charlene is one of the nicest, most caring, compassionate people I have ever had the pleasure of doing business with.  When I put out the call for cloth diapers to send to families in need 2 Christmases ago, she didn’t just send 1 box, she sent 2 gigantic boxes.  And she even wanted to send more.  She does so much for others and her commitment to cloth diapers is a small part of it.  Now that you know a little about Charlene, I will tell you about the new Tiny Tush Elite 1.1.  I reviewed it a year ago, but there have been some exciting improvements!  Now, the rise snaps match the color of the PUL.  This is a biggie for me!  I think matching snaps (or coordinating for funkiness) add to the look of the diaper, whereas white snaps detract.  Also, she added a cross over snap for the smaller waisted infants and newborns and spaced out the tab snaps more.  Everything else is the same.

Ease of Use ✩✩✩✩ The Elite 1.1 still comes in a snapping and velcro version.  The velcro is easy peasy, but since it is a pocket you still need to unstuff the diaper before washing and restuff it.  There is only 1 row of snaps, but 2 on each tab, so a total of 4.  Without hip snaps it is quicker to put on.  The reverse envelope design of the pocket opening prevents poop from getting in the pocket (a huge PITA) but it also makes unstuffing a little harder because you need to open that space and remove it.  There is no chance of just shaking the insert out, so have a cloth wipe handy!

Bang for the Buck ✩✩✩✩ The price is still 17.95.  You get 1 large and 1 small microfiber insert (imported) and the pocket diaper (MADE IN THE US).  You also have the option on their website to upgrade inserts to US made, or cotton.  Now the snaps match the PUL, and that to me makes them look more expensive.  This is the same price you pay for most other OS diapers.

Performance ✩✩✩✩ I use these diapers a lot.  Both the new 1.1 and the old version.  That should say something when you take into account how many diapers I have to choose from.  They work great, are absorbent, and are easy to use.  I haven’t really had any leaks with the new 1.1, but with the old version I had a few when Ev was on the smallest rise setting of the velcro version.

Fit ✩✩✩✩ The TT Elite 1.1 still has a 4 step rise system, and will fit babies 7-35 pounds.  Fletcher wears it with 2 snaps exposed (26 pounds, 2 years old) and Ev wears it with 1 set (16 pounds, 4 months).  It isn’t the TRIMMEST pocket, and when it is on the smaller rises sometimes the microfleece leaves peeks out from the top.  Not much I can do to prevent it but that hasn’t caused leaks.  I love that there are cross over snaps, they are great when you need them!

Overall- The new colors are really pretty.  I tested the Seaspray and it is a very nice color.  There are lights and bolds, a great variety.  Having a velcro or snap option is wonderful!  I really like supporting companies like Tiny Tush.  They try hard to keep production in the US, and do so much good in the world.  Plus, they truly listen to feedback (as evidenced by the improvements).

Where to Buy: Tiny Tush

Intro to Cloth Diaper Series: What is a Pocket Diaper?

Intro to Cloth Diaper Series: What is a Pocket Diaper?

The next video in my Introduction to Cloth Diaper Series is all about pocket diapers! If you are brand new to cloth diapering the terminology is certainly confusing.

A pocket diaper is any cloth diaper that has a pocket opening. I focused on PUL shells (what is PUL?) with a lining and opening, but they are not limited to just that. There are fleece, wool, and even fitted (non waterproof) varieties as well. Still, the PUL shell with a stay dry lining is the most popular, like bumGenius! 4.0 and Fuzzibunz.

The pocket diaper can have an opening at the back (most common), front, or even in the middle.

Openings can be “hidden,” meaning there is a flap over the opening (ex. bumGenius! 4.0/3.0), completely open at the back (ex. Happy Heiny’s), or the envelope style where they tuck in (ex. Tiny Tush Elite), or they can simply have a slit opening.

Linings include:

Stay Dry- Microfleece or suedecloth. (comprehensive post on stay dry linings here)

Non Stay Dry- Cotton velour, bamboo velour, hemp/cotton, bamboo looped terry, cotton looped terry, bamboo fleece.

Pockets are popular because they are customizable and dry quicker than All-in-Ones but remain convenient.  They are also less expensive than most All-in-Ones.

Most pocket diapers come with microfiber inserts, the same material used commonly for towels to clean cars or mop pads.  It is cheap and absorbent.  You can also find pockets that come with hemp, cotton, bamboo, zorb, and more.

As shown in the video, there are many styles of pockets.  Middle closing with velcro or snaps, side snapping, one size, sized, and even dual size (another video).

The biggest drawback of pockets comes when it is time to wash (unstuffing the diaper to allow the insert to be throughly washed) and restuffing it when the diaper is clean and dry.  A typical load of pockets (15 diapers) will take 5-10 minutes to stuff.  Expect to wash every 1.5-3 days.  I have a continuous motion video of washing and stuffing diapers to give you an idea.

In its most basic form, a pocket is still just a shell with an opening for you to stuff an absorbent insert.  But wow are there a lot of options!

Baby Beehinds Magic-Alls Multi Fit Review

Baby Beehinds Magic-Alls Multi Fit Review

Ease of Use ✩✩✩ The Multi Fit uses a snap down rise.  There are 4 possible sizes.  You will have to snap 3 snaps, 1 on each side and 1 in the middle, to change the size, but after that you don’t need to resize until the baby grows.  There are 2 snaps on each tab to affix when putting the diaper on the baby, so 4 in total.  The pocket opening is generous enough for even larger hands, and is easy to stuff and unstuff.

Bang for the Buck ✩✩✩ The Magic All Multi Fit runs 29.99, which is a pretty penny!  There is a limited edition print which makes it a little more pricey, as well as the fact that it is a minkee diaper.  If you really love the unique style of this diaper and the print you might want to dish out for it!  It is more of a collector diaper than one you would make up the bulk of your stash with.

Performance ✩✩✩✩ I have always had great luck with Baby Beehinds products and this is no exception.  We found the right size setting right away for my toddler and used the multi fit insert without the booster.  This was plenty of absorbency for us.  I love the bamboo insert!

Fit ✩✩✩✩ The diaper won’t begin fitting until around 11 pounds.  I am guessing this is because it is wide in the crotch, since the waist does snap down very tight.  Even though it is minkee there isn’t alot of added bulk when you have the rise snapped down, but because it is minkee it is going to be bulkier than a PUL one size diaper.

Overall- I LOVE the new print on this diaper.  It is very mod and gender neutral.  Their girl print is girly, but the boy print can go either way I think.  The lining is very soft and the ruffled elastic looks very comfortable for my son.  It comes with lots of absorbency options too.  The only negative is that it looks like some of the minkee might be wearing down near the rise snaps.

Where to buy: Global Enfant

Doopsy SD Cloth Diaper Review

Doopsy SD Cloth Diaper Review

Doopsy contacted me recently and asked if I would like to review their new cloth diaper.  While the design in general isn’t that exciting or unique, they do offer an interesting new type of insert called a “Super Doopsy” which is a PUL backed, bamboo terry sock.  I think the video will explain it best!

Ease of Use ✩✩✩✩ Doopsy diapers are pockets with snap closures and a 3 step snap down rise adjustment.  You can use the Doopsy as a pocket diaper with their microfiber inserts, or  with the Super Doopsy insert.  Each tab has 3 snaps, 2 on the waist and one on the hip.  Application of the diaper is simple, 6 snaps to affix, but it doesn’t take too long to do.  Granted, there are more snaps than some other diapers and it will obviously take more time than a velcro diaper.

Bang for the Buck ✩✩✩ The Doopsy “SD” is 17.95.  However, you can find the regular version without the SD insert for only 15.95.  While it is a good price for a pocket diaper, you may not get as much for your money since it seems to fit on the small side.

Performance ✩✩✩✩ The Doopsy SD insert is very absorbent.  It takes a little longer to dry than the microfiber insert that comes with it.  I didn’t have any leaks with either insert, but I think the microfiber insert is a bit thinner than others.  It just never happened that my son was in a heavy wetting mood while using it.

Fit ✩✩✩ On the unsnapped rise setting (the largest possible) this diaper fit so nicely on my son.  It is really trim as well.  Unfortunately, on most pocket diapers he is on the middle snap and has more room to grow.  In these he is very close to outgrowing.  He is 25 pounds or so.  Waist wise he does have more room, but not on the rise.

Overall- The Doopsy SD is a good and inexpensive pocket diaper that comes in some really cute colors.  The snaps don’t match the PUL, some people care, some don’t.  It does get very small but looks like it won’t fit as long as many other pocket diapers.  The SD insert is very neat and absorbent, and a nice option to have.

Where to buy: List of retailers

I was sent a Doopsy “SD” diaper for the purposes of this review.  No other compensation was received.  All opinions are 100% my own.

Charlie Banana Sized and One Size Cloth Diaper Review

Charlie Banana Sized and One Size Cloth Diaper Review

Charlie Banana is a new cloth diaper brand to hit the scene.  They already have an impressive line up of products.  I was asked to review the One Size and Sized Charlie Banana pocket diapers, which are a 2-in-1 system since you can also use them with disposable inserts if you choose.

Charlie Banana Sized Cloth Diaper Review:

Ease of Use ✩✩✩✩ The Sized version of the Charlie Banana has snap closures.  Each tab has 3 snaps, 2 at the waist and one on the hip.  Total you have 4 snaps to close.  After some practice the changes will go much quicker.  Most people find snapping the bottom (hip) snap to be quicker, however I prefer to start at the top.  The diaper stuffs from the front.  You might find unstuffing to be harder from the front that a back stuffing pocket, but you will appreciate it when there is a particularly nasty explosion in the rear.

Bang for the Buck ✩✩✩✩ You can find this diaper for around 18-19 dollars.  Since these are brand new they aren’t carried in many places yet.  This cost includes 2 super absorbent and high quality inserts, a longer insert and a shorter one.  The diaper comes in very cute packaging as well.  Great for baby shower gifts!

Performance ✩✩✩✩✩ The Sized version of the CB has been working extremely well for us.  Even though the size Large has a higher rise than we normally use (he is JUST at the weight limit for the large) the fit around the legs and waist has been great.  We use one insert for daytime, both inserts for overnight.

Fit ✩✩✩✩ My son could have worn a Medium but he was right at the end of the weight range.  I suspect it would have fit longer since he is tall/lean.  The Large does fit but the rise is higher and it looks bulkier than a Medium would.  Looks aside, the diaper fit well enough to have no leaking.  The large is going to be great for bigger todders!

Overall- The Sized CB is nice to have around for your stash.  In general, I like On Size better but a sized diaper is going to give you a nice fit for the time the baby wears the diaper.  And, for smaller babies, sized diapers will be less bulky.

Charlie Banana One Size Cloth Diaper

Ease of Use ✩✩✩✩ The One Size Charlie Banana uses a slotted leg elastic adjustment.  The elastic is numbered and a button is used to adjust.  The elastic goes from 1-7, 7 being the largest setting possible.  You only need to adjust each leg once, unlike the Fuzzibunz OS which you do on both ends.  The excess elastic hides under the front stuffing pocket.  Once the pocket is adjusted it works just like the sized pocket.  Easy to use every day.  3 snaps on each tab, same as the sized.

Bang for the Buck ✩✩✩✩ It looks like the One Size is the same, 18-19 dollars.  However I am only seeing the OS being sold in packs of 6.  A good price for a capable one size diaper.

Performance ✩✩✩✩✩ If I have to choose, I prefer the One Size over the Sized CB.  Mainly because it looked trimmer on my son.  Absorbency wise, there was no difference.  The inserts are the same.

Fit ✩✩✩✩✩ I loved the way the One Size fit my son.  He could be a 5-7, but 7 was a better fit on his legs without being too tight.  The 7 setting on the OS is slightly smaller than the Large version of the CB.  The fit in between the legs is also less bulky.  The size chart says is should fit babies 0-36 months.  I am going to guess it won’t fit a baby over 35, possibly less depending on the build.

Overall- I love that these diapers already have print options, some of which are very boy friendly.  The OS is similar to others on the market, and it is easy to adjust.

Charlie Banana Wipes:

I was also sent Charlie Banana wipes to review.  There are two types :Single Layer and Double Layer.  The Single Layer wipes are one layer of organic cotton.  To be honest, these were not my favorite.  Even to wipe a pee it would be saturated from spraying.  Since I fold my wipes a certain way there is no telling what wipe comes up for a BM, and if this one came up I had to pull the next out.  However, I fell in love with the Double Layer wipes.  One side is organic cotton, the other is fleece.  I have never really like fleece wipes before, but this one gets a poopy butt really clean and is thick enough that I know my hands won’t be getting wet or dirty!  I am seriously wanting to buy more because with 2 babies in cloth, I need more wipes!

Swim Diaper:

In addition to the 2 pocket diapers and wipes, Charlie Banana sent an adorable swim diaper to review.  I was only able to use it once.  He wore it outside while playing in our water table and the water hose.  It has elastic all around to hold in those messes, and a small amount of cotton on the wet zone to hold a pee if they can’t make it between the swim diaper changing and the pool.  This is nice to have I am sure!  He looked adorable in this diaper!  Very European!

Charlie Banana also has other items in their line-up including reusable menstrual pads, wet bags, baby leg warmers, changing pads, and more!  A huge selection for a start up!

Where to Buy: Amazon.com (affiliate link)

I received a goody package from Charlie Banana fro the purposes of this review, including 2 cloth diapers, a swim diaper, cloth wipes, and a changing pad.  No other compensation was received and all opinions are 100% my own.

*** There has been a bit of drama surrounding this brand.  I was not aware of it when I agreed to perform the review.  I would prefer you to make up your own mind about the product.
