Kissaluvs Marvel One Size Cover Review

I got a first peek of the Kissaluvs Marvel One Size Cover (and the Marvel AIO) at ABC Kids last September.  I was happy to see those new additions to the Kissaluvs lineup, among the other cool new products like the antibacterial pail liner and new Marvel fitted prints with a more gender neutral or boy theme.

The Kissaluvs Marvel One Size Cover is very much like most other one size covers.  The closure uses snaps and the rise is adjusted by snaps as well.  The best part of the cover has to be the great leg gussets, handy for those runny breastfeeding poops!

Ease of Use ✰✰✰✰ This is an extremely simple cover.  There is only one row of snaps and you only need to affix 4 snaps total for each change.  To adjust the size of the diaper you can snap the rise down using the three across snaps, which only takes a few seconds.  You won’t have to do that for every change.  The only possible thing complicating your diaper changes would be if you have a a squirmy baby or if you are working with prefolds.

Bang for the Buck ✰✰✰✰ The price point is very true to the competition like Blueberry, at 16.95.  Considering this should last 8 to 40 pounds, and knowing that covers generally have a long life if taken care of, it is a great deal!  It is a good deal more expensive than many sized covers, but the initial investment will be worth it if you continue to use them for the life span of your baby (or babies) in diapers.

Performance ✰✰✰✰✰ It is hard to find a cover that doesn’t work well (at least for me) and this was no exception.  No leaks, no blow outs, nothing but dry baby clothes.  I would be interested in seeing how well the gussets work to contain newborn poop, but my son has solid stools so I wasn’t able to test that.

Fit ✰✰✰✰ I really liked the elastic on this diaper, it had lots of give and was good and tight to keep leaks at bay.  The medium setting was a great fit for my son, so I know he has a while left in the cover before he outgrows it since there is one setting left for him.  We are getting to the point that he is on the unsnapped setting on some diapers, but not this one.  The cover didn’t leave any bright red marks, but light marks on the back.

Fabulousness, Kissaluvs One-Size, All-in-One Details and a sneak peek!

Fabulousness, Kissaluvs One-Size, All-in-One Details and a sneak peek!

After all of the buzz about the Kissaluvs One-Size, All-in-One you want some juicy details right?  I want to assure you that this product is as fabulous as it sounds!  Every time I think about it I get a little giddy.  In the cloth diapering world, the Flip and Econobum were supposed to be the big thing at ABC but I think Kissaluvs ended up stealing the show with their humble debut.

Details:  One Size, snap rise, microfleece liner, and microfiber “insert”.

Construction: The “insert” is sewn inside of the pocket, but only on the front of the diaper.  This technically makes this an all-in-one.  However, you have an entire pocket you can add more inserts to.

Fabulousness:  When the diaper is dirty you don’t have to pull an insert out.  Toss it!  When you wash it the diaper is going to turn inside out.  Tumble dry.  Next step, stuffing…… NOT!  Your insert is already attached.  The diaper takes the same amount of time to dry as a pocket!  Just pull the diaper from the front and back and your insert is going to go back in its home!!!

These are going to be shipping out to diaper shops in about a month.  One reason I love Kissaluvs is that they care about their retailers.  You will be able to purchase the diaper from the big guys and the small guys, like Diaper Daisy, on the same day.

Other things coming from Kissaluvs: a One Size cover with a snap down rise configuration.  More Marvel prints (more gender neutral and boy friendly.  There are more boy prints in the pipeline that weren’t at ABC as well.  The new Birdy print is adorable in person, trust me!)

I will be getting my hands on one of these soon to show you a demo of how they work.  In the meantime, Sara from Diaper Daisy was able to shoot a demo and it will be up on her blog in a week so if you want more fabulousness you need to watch that!

ABC Day 1

ABC Day 1

Day 1 in Vegas has been equally frustrating and awesome. We has a 6 am flight to Chicago. That didn’t go so well. There was so much fog that we couldn’t land and had to circle over lake michigan for over an hour. Missed my connecting and after some sniffles was able to be bumped up on the standby list. Baby and crying mom equal sympathy. We made it to Vegas and my luggage was there! I want to say that Fletcher was amazing. I took a shuttle to the hotel and after a shower and quick lunch we made it to ABC Kids Expo.

After spending 3 hours there I don’t even feel like I scratched the surface.

Now, what you have all been waiting for… What is the Econobum?
Here it is.
Snaps, one size cover that comes with a one size prefold. The prefold is divided in sections, it looks to be 12 squares. This is supposed to aid you in folding it down for smaller sizes. The cover only comes in white.
Price: 9.99 with one prefold and one cover. For less than 150 you can get enough of these to create a whole stash. They are made in Egypt.

What else did BG have up their sleeve?

Their second new item…
Flip!
Flip is a multi purpose system. It is the same sizing as their other diapers, and it functions like an all in two. You can use it with one size micro fiber inserts that have a stay dry top layer. You can also use it with an organic cotton insert. And they also have a disposable insert you can purchase seperately. This cover comes in zinnia, moonbeam, and ribbit signature BG colors.

Cottonbabies has already put these items on their webpage so give it a look. I will tell you more about what I think of them soon. You will be able to buy them through CB late October. Retailers may not get the Flip until January.

I am also really excited about the new Beco carrier which will allow babies to face forward. They have some really good ideas on how to keep the baby and parent comfortable while holding your baby. Plus, their prints are fab!

The biggest highlight of the show so far was actually a new product by Kissaluvs. It won’t be out for a few months but I will ne reviewing it is the near future. I am really, really impressed with this diaper. When you finally get to see it you will say, “why didn’t I think of that?”
