Now that I am “on the wagon” and I can’t buy any more new, or used fluff, I still like to window shop. There are some diapers I have seen lately that make me regret EC! There are also some kinds I have just never tried before. I hope I still get the chance; I like to understand every aspect of cloth diapering. When people ask me opinions, I would love to have tried all types. Enjoy my list. If you want to send me one of these diapers, feel free! *wink wink*

A side snapping diaper I would love to try! These come in a rainbow of colors. One complaint I have with some diaper companies is that they do not give enough color options. Not so with GadBaby!

I just found out about these diapers called ES Baby, and I am mad about them! The mama who makes them happens to live VERY local to me. So hard to resist, especially since I have been wanting to try a side snapping diaper for a while. She has adorable prints. You can find her instock store on etsy.

I would like to try these to see how they stack up to Bum Genius. They are a more affordable option, they are a snapping pocket, and so far I hear great things. Check out Smartipants for more information.

Zany Zebra makes the most extraordinarily beautiful, drool worthy diapers I have ever seen. These are for someone who really wants to splurge! And of course, if I owned one I would never ever cover it up. Thankfully, I have baby legs. This sushi applique is my favorite!

I want to try wool, just to say I have. I need to know what all the fuss is about. Of course, I would love to own a pair of adorable crankypants. But, any wool will do! This sugar peas soaker looks cute, and is supposed to work great!

I really, really, really want a gauze cotton wrap. This brand, Gypsy Mama, makes gorgeous wraps. This one in particular has a nice print that belongs to me! Since trying my friend’s Moby, I am even more set on getting a wrap.
This isn’t diaper related, but since I am “on the wagon” for regular shopping too, I wanted to include it.

There seems to be a few different categories of cloth diapering moms. They are by no means mutually exclusive, I myself fall into a few, but in varying degrees. These are observations I have made since diving headfirst into many different cloth diapering communities.
1. The Frugal Cloth Mama: This mama cloth diapers to save some green. Her initial interest stemmed from either wanting to save money or NEEDING to save money due to financial distress. This mom may not be concerned with the cutest diapers, but with what works and that she can afford.
T
This mom most likely uses: prefolds, PUL covers, Fleece Covers, Wool Covers, DIY or WAHM made diapers.

2. The Environmental Mama: This mama decided to cloth diaper because she was concerned about the waste produced by disposables. She is probably worried about the chemicals in the disposables as well, and loves cloth because it keeps her baby’s bum rash free (who doesn’t?)
This mom most likely uses anything out there, though she may be more likely to pick diapers made from organic fibers like organic bamboo velour fitteds and wool covers.

3. The Fashionable Mom: This mom decided to cloth diaper because she couldn’t resist the amazing array of cute fluff! The patterns, the colors, the styles!!! Who wouldn’t want to cloth diaper with the choices out there today?
This mom most likely uses fitteds (Goodmamas) and covers or AIO‘s or Pockets in colorful colors and patterns.

4. The Underground Fluff Addict: This mama is in it for the thrill of the hunt. She probably didn’t start cloth diapering to stalk hyena cart but she is hooked now! She will stalk BSRB, Goodmama, Muttaquin, or the other “underground” cloth designers who have limited quantities and numerous fans. This mama may even pay 70.00 for a certain diaper whose print is no longer available. AND this mom probably has matching sets custom made to coordinate with her diapers. This mom is definitely not in cloth diapering to save money!
This mom most likely uses Goodmama, Muttaquin, Bagshot Row Bamboo, PB and Ellie, Cranky Pants, Sustainable Babyish, and way more than I can name!

I am just not in the mood for diaper laundry today. My basement is frigid and my body aches for some reason or another. Then there is the issue of that GIANT box blocking my path from my apartment to the stairs. Currently they are on the hot wash/ cold rinse/ cold rinse cycle with NO detergent. I am also prepping my Gro Baby diapers, the two new colors I got in the mail on Thursday.
We are flying to San Antonio in a few weeks. This is exciting since we haven’t been for over 5 years. My husband’s family lives there and none of them have met Fletcher. The practicalities of trying to continue cloth diapering on a trip weighing on me. I am going to use a mix of G diapers and Gro Baby diapers, which should lessen the load. When we drove to Charlotte I brought essentially every diaper I owned. As nice as that was, flying does not allow for 5 suitcases of fluff! I may break down and buy the flushies for the g diapers; they will only be used for the airport/ plane ride. Something about wet diapers sitting in my bag for hours does not sit well with me. After our trip I will be sure to let people know how flying with fluff went.
To the basement I go to check my agitation, I want to see if there are any suds, to ease my mind….
