Ease of Use ✩✩✩✩ The Hippeez Fitted tries to bridge the gap between disposables and cloth diapers with easy velcro closures and sizing that follows disposables (Size 1, 2 etc). It is incredibly easy to apply on the baby, but you do still need a cover if you are wearing it with clothes. Using fitteds with no cover is good for breathability and helping clear up rashes.
Bang for the Buck ✩✩✩ 11.99 is a very fair price for a handmade fitted. The price does increase for Size 5-6 by $2.00. If you are just after cheap, there are less expensive fitteds, but you won’t be able to choose from the print selection Hippeez offers. I also appreciate that you get to customize your options; many parents have preferences for stay dry lining, or non, and bigger brands usually only offer one type.
Performance ✩✩✩✩ I’ve used the Hippeez for oth nights and days without covers. It would feel a but damp after Ev wet the diaper, but it wasn’t so wet that I was getting soaked from touching the front. The drying time is longer than many of the other diapers in my stash since the absorbent soaker is sewn down, which is to be expected. If it wasn’t done drying in one dryer cycle I would leave it out to air dry the rest of the way, as I do with my other diapers in the same boat.
Fit ✩✩✩ The sizing was on the small side for Ev, I was even hesitant to review it at first because it was such a tight fit. The laundry tabs were soft enough that the fact that they touched his skin didn’t become an issue, but he is just on the verge of being too wide for it. The sizing system is good for anyone who is coming from using disposables though, and knows size by numbers. My suggestion would be to size up in a weight range if you baby is on the wider size, based on my experience. If you are worried, email Heather and I’m sure she would have a suggestion on which would work best. I would like to see a measurement chart though, which would be easier to base purchases on since there would less of a chance of ordering the wrong size.
Overall: Having an easy to put on fitted is nice. If you baby is doing death rolls like my son, you appreciate not having too many snaps to do. Workign with a WAHM means a few more custom options. I chose to review the diaper with the Sherpa lining and a microfiber soaker. She has really cute prints to choose from, and that doesn’t hurt things! I do find that fitteds with sewn in soakers are more prone to stink issues over time but I haven’t had the diaper long enough to know if this will happen yet.

Ease of Use ✩✩✩ The Tetro Tying fitted is definitely different than an aplix or snapping diaper. The string is relatively short so even though you can tie a bow a double knot is probably easier. The rise simply folds over for sizing, which you will need to do for every change.

Bang for the Buck ✩✩ Unfortunately this fitted does have a high price tag at 21.95. It is an imported item and is cotton. The price of cotton is rising so expect all cotton products to be more expensive soon, if they aren’t already. It is a one size fitted so it should fit for quite a while, and since it doubles for ECing it is multi-purpose.

Performance ✩✩✩✩ Even though the fitted is trim it was never totally soaked. I would use a doubler at night to be safe, which worked well.

Fit ✩✩✩✩ My 19 lb baby had no trouble fitting into this fitted. He did have the rise folded over some which means there is still room to grow. The tabs can cross over slightly if needed. Sometimes the flap would slide down while he was wearing it, but he had a cover on. If he had been coverless for ECing it would have been more problematic.

Overall: The Tetro fitted would probably be best for coverless, ECing time. It is very adorable even though the colors fade after washing (that is to be expected with flannel). It is definitely unique!

I began using Thirsties way back in 2008 when my son was born. We used their XS covers and prefolds and they worked great. Since then they have introduced their dual size line up. I have already reviewed their Duo Diaper, and now I am reviewing their Duo fitted and Duo Wrap which was sent by Madison Organics.

Ease of Use ✩✩✩ Fitteds seem intimidating to many because they often seem to have a huge array of snaps, maybe because the “popular” fitted out there is snap city. There is a snaps version of the Duo fitted but it is super simple, and since the fitted has give, it goes on like butter. They also have a velcro version. Same for the cover, which comes in both snaps or velcro and is simple to use. They both use a snap down rise with 3 options. You will likely have it sized already before it goes in the baby so it isn’t an issue.

Bang for the Buck ✩✩✩ The Duo fitted is 17 and the wraps are 12.25. Usually you only need 4-6 covers, and around 12-26 fitteds depending on the age of your baby. I think a whole stash of these would be a little pricey but having a few for night time would be a great idea.

Performance ✩✩✩✩✩ Can I say, LOVE? Oh my, I love these fitteds and I didn’t expect that. I knew they would work, but I didn’t think they would become my new favorite overnight diaper! With no extra stuffing these hold up all night (usually 10-12 hours) and the cover keeps everything in.

Fit ✩✩✩✩ Since both the fitted and the cover and dual sized my son should have plenty of room left to grow. They do say they begin fitting at 18 pounds but my son is 17 pounds and needs to be on the middle rise snap. As I said in the video, the fitted looks extremely comfortable and it comforms to his tummy so well! The cover doesn’t leave any red marks or show other signs of discomfort.

Overall- Both the fitted and the wrap are easy to use, not too bulky compared to many other combinations on the market. The innovative way the soaker is sewn in makes for no bulk when changing the rise settings. The fitted does take longer to dry than one dryer cycle.

Where to buy: Madison Organics

Happy Heiny’s sent over a few of their products to try. I have already reviewed their new and improved One Size and their Mini One Size in my newborn diaper review. This time I am reviewing the Happy Hempy and the One Size Cover.

Ease of Use ✩✩✩ Fitteds and covers together definitely take longer to put on a baby than any pocket or all-in-one. The reason is pretty obvious, you have 2 items to put on versus one. That being said, these took me a little longer than other varieties. I had to be very careful when putting the Happy Hempy on because if you didn’t make it tight enough there could be leaks from the front. The fitted also needs to be stuffed, either before you put it on your baby or when you get it out of the dryer. It also needs to be unstuffed before you wash it. This all adds time to the diaper changing process. You also need to affix the laundry tabs for both the Happy Hempy and the OS cover before tossing it in the pail.

Bang for the Buck ✩✩✩ The Hempy is 18.95 and the cover runs 14.95. I would say both are a little more than most products in their same category but not by much. The Hempy is worth the investment for that heavy wetter though!

Performance ✩✩✩✩ Even though this diaper can be a pita to get on and off, it held up very well overnight. I do like the stay dry aspect because there are very few fitteds that have this. I didn’t have any leaks with the diaper. For my review I used the Hemp Stuffin insert.

Fit✩✩✩✩ This diaper combination is very bulky, at least on my little diaper tester. I’m sure for those babies and toddlers who are in need of a serious night time solution would benefit from this combo. If you baby doesn’t need a mega night time combo you might want to find a different fitted to use with the HH cover, since the cover doesn’t add any bulk and it is a good cover.

Overall- The best feature of the Happy Hempy is definitely the stay dry lining and the many layers of hemp. The combo of the fitted and the cover worked great for us but is bulkier than I prefer so it is relegated to nights. The velcro still gave me chains even using the directed “behind the diaper” closing system.

Where to buy: Kelly’s Closet

I was super excited to review this BabeeGreens fitted diaper. Why? Because it is made in Asheville NC! I am a NC girl, born and raised. Even though I didn’t live in Asheville I have been there a few times for vacations or a day trip. I have fond memories of the town. I haven’t been back since adulthood but I imagine it is a lot like Ithaca NY, a crunchy town I like to visit often. It is always nice to see US Made diapers, and even better to find some made to close to “home.”

Ease of Use ✩✩✩ Like many other fitteds, this one utilizes a Fold Over Rise. There are snaps on both sides of the top. You can fold to different levels and still use the inside snaps, which makes for an easy way to size the diaper. With the rose folded there is no way to snap in the Contour Booster seen in the video. You can however use the lay in boosters that come with the diaper. To snap the diaper on it isn’t hard. The snaps lie lower than some diapers so it might appear weird but it is correct, I promise.

Bang for the Buck ✩✩✩✩✩ So, at 18.95, made in the US, using organic materials, this is a steal! Also, you not only get a good fitted, you get the newborn contour which can be used at birth. I doubt it will fot for long since it is tiny, but it will fit a teeny baby that most one size’s won’t. And you get the boosters with it! You have enough absorbency to work all night.

Performance ✩✩✩✩ I mostly used this diaper overnight, although I did test for days as well. Since nights are the true test anyway, who cares? Days I only used the contour snapped in. My son is on the unsnapped rise setting, but it is high on him so he has room for growth still. This was plenty of absorbency. For overnight I used the contour and one booster. This was also good for us as long as I made sure the cover was on nicely. I did have a front leak once and I suspect the cover wasn’t tight enough so some wicking occurred at his tummy and got on his pajamas.

Fit ✩✩✩ Getting this diaper to fit correctly might take some practice, especially if you are unfamiliar with this form of rise adjustment. You can play with it, fold it different ways, to get it going. We probably could have folded it over, but since it fit him unfolded I went the easiest way. It isn’t the trimmest fitted, hence why we used it mostly at night. You need to consider this when looking for covers. Most pull on wool and fleece covers are going to be a great pair with this. I used the Smartipants OS most times since it has a lot of room. Some trimmer cut styles (bikini cuts on legs) might not work as well. An example would be the Kissaluvs OS cover.

Overall- This is a workhorse fitted that is going to last forever. The durable materials and quality workmanship definitely show. 18.95 is a small price to pay for what you are getting. If you want to support a great WAHM you should give this diaper a look.

Ease of Use ✩✩✩ The diaper is a one size fitted, and utilizes a fold over rise adjustment. Now, even though it seems there are only two ways to adjust the rise, you can fold it without snapping it over. Depending on what size setting you need, the size is either already set and you just put it on the baby, or you need to fold the rise over once you have it on them. For us, because my son is not the small and not the unsnapped, we go in between so I fold it over when we change. I lay the soakers in ahead of time. If the diaper is unsnapped and on the largest setting you can snap the soakers in place. I love that the tabs each have the ability to cross over. Some diapers have them on the left, some on the right, but you can choose either! Obviously my son doesn’t need them to cross over since he is a toddler, but the option is nice.

Bang for the Buck ✩✩✩✩ The diaper is 19.97. I really love the materials it is made from, and since it is a good night time diaper, I would pay that for it. Others may consider it expensive and opt for a cheaper fitted. Having the chance to rub it is nice though! The bamboo also makes it pricer than a fitted using microfiber or some other cheaper material.

Performance ✩✩✩✩ I mostly used this diaper at night because it is bulky. I used both inserts. The first night I used it I had a leak. I washed it a few more times and only used it during the day until then. The next night time test I stuck a microfiber doubler beneath the 2 inserts, just in case. I have continued this method because I was afraid to have more leaks. My son finally sleeps all night so frankly, I don’t want to deal with a soaking wet wake up call! This combination has worked great for us. Also, the first night I used it unsnapped but this was too big. After that I figured out I should fold it in between the two settings. This probably helped as well.

Fit ✩✩✩ I am not crazy about the size variations. While it seems to only have 2, you can make it have more by folding it to size, but you don’t get that in the instructions. I would not use any inserts for a very small baby to cut out the bulk. With both inserts in it is very bulky and would not fit under my son’s pants. Had I not played around with the sizing I might have been dissapointed with the diaper since I did have a leak on the unsnapped setting. It was too large for his legs.

Overall- The best feature of this diaper is how soft it is. Second best is the fact that they snap in soakers are fleece topped. Most fitteds have no fleece and many parents are looking for that feature. While it doesn’t wick moisture away from the entire baby’s bottom, it does in that area (most sensitive area at that!) The sizing isn’t the best at certain ages, but I was able to work with it and make it work. I hope others can figure it out as well. It was great to use at night and I am confident that is will work all night now! Peace of mind is great!

Where to buy: Otterblotters.com

Bang for the Buck ✰✰✰✰ The Sandy’s Fitted is 10.75, a super low price to a fitted that works as well as it does. The Airflow Cover is also extremely affordable at 12.75. Just adding two or three of each of these is a small investment for nighttime diapering.

Performance ✰✰✰✰ While these work just fine during the day, I find them best for overnight. During the day we like pockets for convenience and trimness. But for night time fitteds have been shown to work best for my son. He isn’t bothered by feeling wetness so we can swing it. He wakes up leak free in these. The first time I used the cover he had some red marks on his thighs so I was worried about using it overnight. I did it one snap looser on the thighs from then on and no red marks, plus no leaks. I did use the booster it came with for overnight.

Fit ✰✰✰ The sizes were very confusing to me. Some stores only have certain sizes, but on the Mother-Ease website they list quite a few choices. I believe I have the M/L cover. This fits 20-27 pounds. It did not fit until around 22 pounds. The nature of the cover is that it is loose, so even if you get one in the mail and you think it is too large, try it on. I was dubious it would fit him then but it did. The Sandy’s is even more confusing. The sizes go Newborn, Small, Large. There is no Medium. We received the Large, which fits 20-35 pounds. He still has plenty of room to grow in this, and even though it isn’t snug on him it does fit and work.

Overall- For those parents who are concerned about air circulation in the diaper or who are looking for an excellent night time solution, I would suggest trying this combo. While we won’t likely be using this in our daytime rotation it will be making it into our night time line up for sure. The fitted is my favorite of the two; it is extremely soft and absorbent, as well as comfortable. It would also work really great underneath a wool cover. It will not fit well under certain, more “bikini cut” covers like the Kissaluvs Marvel OS. The Airflow can work with just about any fitted or prefold. So, not the most adorable diapers but they are very effective!

Ease of Use ✰✰✰✰ This diaper is a fitted, which means it is not waterproof. There will be the added step of using a cover (wool or PUL) which can be as easy as pulling on a wool cover or as hard as velcro or snapping. The Little Beetle One Size Little to Big has 3 snaps on each tab which are fairly close together. Depending on the wiggliness of your child this can be challenging. I reviewed the snap version, but you can buy it in aplix as well. I was also using this diaper when we were ECing so I had it already snapped. It was pretty easy to pull up and down. If you know the setting for your child you can do this as well and avoid snapping! There is a lay in booster, very easy to put in.

Bang for the Buck ✰✰✰✰ This diaper is 24.95, Sounds expensive, and yeah, you can find much cheaper fitteds on the market. The cheaper alternatives are usually not made in the US and are not made with high quality organic materials. Little Beetle is a very responsible and caring company and do their best to provide goods made in the US by people earning and living wage. This means you pay a little extra. You also get a great high quality diaper that is cute too!

Performance ✰✰✰✰✰ I tried this diaper a number of ways. With a booster for overnights with a wool wrapping cover (pass) in the day with a PUL cover (pass) and with no cover as a make shift trainer (pass). The trainer aspect passed too well since he has made a tinkle and I didn’t realize it since it never felt damp to the outside.

Fit ✰✰✰ The fit ran a little small in my opinion. I still had a rise snap left but I will soon need to unsnap that. The waist could be a snap larger on each size at least, and the thighs were pretty tight so I think a toddler larger than my son (22 pounds or so) would possibly have a hard time fitting the diaper. I do think that it would start fitting a baby at a very young age since it gets quite small. Always a give and take!

Overall- I enjoyed using this diaper, especially coverless since I LOVE the color and the velour is too soft to cover with wool or PUL. I am also a huge fan and admirer of this brand and the quality products they make. They take everything into consideration, not just the product, but the people making it and the resources used.

I was asked to review this new fitted diaper to the market, Pooters. Funny name, good diaper.

Ease of Use ✰✰✰✰ Though this diaper has snaps, it is easy enough to figure out. There are cross over tabs on each side which saves you having to remember which side has them. Since I frequently get confused (different brands use different sides) I liked that feature. To adjust the rise of the diaper you can fold it over.

Bang for the Buck ✰✰✰✰✰ This diaper is very, very affordable. For 12 dollars you can get a fitted that is absorbent enough for night time. It isn’t made in the US, and that can explain the cheap price. That may deter some buyers.

Performance ✰✰✰✰ I have been using this as my night time diaper for some time now. I add a booster made from soft bamboo, strictly for keeping something soft against my baby’s boy parts.

Fit ✰✰✰ I would like to see this diaper have a higher rise. It was at the perfect point for my son, but I can tell he will outgrow it soon enough. He is usually in a Medium so this is a problem for babies wearing Larges. The snaps are great for skinny babies though, it will go very tight. It snapped at a great waist fit for us.

Overall- This is a new diaper and one that has a lot going for it. I think if they can adjust the rise to be a tad longer they will be able to be an even better diaper. You can also get this diaper in cotton, but we tested the hemp version. It was very absorbent as well. Since I am using it on a very regular basis you can be sure I do like it!

Ease of Use ✰✰✰✰ This fitted has snaps, but nothing like a Goodmama, which can be overwhelming. I found it easy to put on and take off, and to size since the rise uses snaps as well. The soaker can be snapped in or left out for more trimness if you don’t need it.

Bang for the Buck ✰✰✰✰ The Hemp fitted costs less than many fitteds on the market, but as much as many pocket diapers (17.95) The price is justified since the diaper is made from Hemp, a material that has to be imported. However, the diaper is still made in the USA. It is very absorbent so worth the price if you need a workhorse diaper that is very thirsty for nights.

Performance ✰✰✰✰✰ I loved this diaper because it was simple and effective. I trusted it for days without the insert because my son isn’t a heavy wetter. I used it with a PUL cover and it was never soaked through, even after one instance of leaving it on a little too long. Blame it on Mommy/ pregnant brain! Overnights required the insert but no extra stuffins for me.

Fit ✰✰✰✰✰ The ruffled elastic fit my son beautifully. I think there is lots of room for growth, especially with 4 rise settings. It was very trim on my son compared to many fitteds, especially those using OBV which are heavy and bulky. I can’t say if it fits a newborn or not, but I think it would work, especially with a cover. Give me a few months before testing that.

Overall- This is another great product from Tiny Tush. The hemp is soft and pliable and the lining is soft against the baby’s skin. The snaps are hidden, a feature I am very fond of. Even though the front rolls down some it doesn’t detract from the function, and you will have a cover of it most of the time so it isn’t a big deal.
