Set a World Record with The Great Cloth Diaper Change 2013

It’s almost that time of year again- The Great Cloth Diaper Change is happening April 20th 2013!  Hard to believe we are already doing this for the third time!  What is The Great Cloth Diaper Change?

The Great Cloth Diaper Change is a worldwide effort to spread cloth diaper awareness while attempting to break the previous year’s record for most cloth diapers changed simultaneously.  It is always near Earth Day for obvious reasons!  Moms, Dads, and babies meet in locations across the world to change their babies from either a disposable or cloth diaper INTO a cloth diaper.  This year the change will happen for each location at their local time 11 am.  In previous years it was the same time for each location meaning some people woke in the middle of the night to participate!

As the event grows more people join in and the locations find more ways to make them fun.  For example, in Syracuse NY the change will coincide with the CNY Baby Expo hosted by Basic Baby.  In Knoxville Fluff n’ Stuff Baby will be hosting the change in conjunction with the Knoxville Natural Parenting Expo.  The Denver location, hosted by Kanga Care, might be one of the biggest (or at the very least, exciting!) because it incorporates The Natural Parenting Expo with special guests Jamie Grayson of TheBabyGuy NYC and Jessica Martin of The Leaky Boob!  I will be traveling 10 hours away to attend the Charlotte, NC event hosted by Jack Be Natural.  Most locations offer participants goody bags with coupons and swag (free stuff!) and there are even chances to win larger items, depending on where you go.

Each year the totals grow.  The first year in 2011 saw 5,026 babies changed.  2012 saw 8,251 babies changed!  With the new time this year we will surely beat 10,000!

What are you waiting for?  Find a location near you!

I wasn’t asked to make a promotional video again, however I made one for the first and second year and these can be seen below.
