Rock-a-bums 5-In-1 2.0 One Size Diaper Review

The stockings are hung, the presents are wrapped, the dresses are ironed, and we’re just about ready for Christmas. In a few hours we’ll sit down to a big family dinner, followed by dessert and music at my aunt’s house. In the morning we look forward to a big family brunch and a visit from Santa. But the best part of all is being surrounded by all of our loved ones. What are some of your favorite holiday traditions?

Today I’m reviewing Rock-a-bums newest 5-in-1, the 2.0. They’re better than ever and are now offering their long anticipated prints as well as their classic rock’n’roll solid colors.
Ease of Use ✩✩✩✩✩ These diapers have always been easy to use, with so many options to adapt to your lifestyle, but now they are better than ever. They now feature on opening on both sides, which makes stuffing inserts so much easier, as well as a snap option for the insert available in the front or the back, perfect for keeping the insert exactly where you need it.

Bang for the Buck ✩✩✩✩ For 16.95 you receive a Bombshell cover and two inserts. You can double up the inserts for overnight but I’ve found these inserts to be very absorbent and when using the cover with the inserts laying in (they still have that awesome microfleece lining on one side so you can lay it against baby’s skin) I can easily make it through two diaper changes with the same cover. This is a pretty good value, and I love the versatility. Performance ✩✩✩✩✩ The 2.0 version boasts a generous tummy panel, perfect for stopping leaks for tummy sleepers, boys, and active rollers/army crawlers. The back elastic is also wider and thicker than before, with a solid band that fits snugly against the skin without bunching for a smooth look and excellent blowout protection. It still offers great absorbency and I love the new material lining the interior, it’s so soft and sleek, and the black lining is amazing for avoiding stains, I’ve still never had to sun my Rock-a-Bums. Fit ✩✩✩✩ Rock-a-Bums has updated their snap configuration to provide a better fit with two rows of snaps for quicker diaper changes, excellent for a wiggly toddler. They no longer offer a cross-over tab, so some very small and skinny babies may not get as good a fit, but at fourteen months my skinny little girl is able to wear hers with one rise snapped and one pair of snaps showing in the front. Overall: I still love my Rock-a-Bums, and I think the improvements they’ve added have made a good diaper even better. I love that you can use these covers any way you want to (I recently got to try some Flip disposable inserts in them for a road trip to North Carolina, they did great!) and the modern cool designs are perfect for parents who don’t want to give up their Doc Martens for a pair of mom jeans. You can still be yourself and express yourself with an aesthetic that doesn’t scream baby kittens and rainbows. I applaud Rock-a-Bum for having such a wonderful collection for the cool kids. Really want to try these but right now my skinny babe needs crossover tabs. But maybe in the future, thanks for the great information!

I wish that the company kept the crossover tabs AND the hip snap! I really like the idea of CD from birth in a OS diaper but don’t think it can happen without crossover snaps! Also not looking for wing droop once baby starts crawling, walking, running, jumping. Otherwise, I do love the 4 rises and a complete second row of snaps. Would also like if the inserts matched the lining but that’s not a functionality issue; just my I diagnosed OCD for ordering colors! Lol

I hope that you see this, but I have a question. The website claims that they are 5-in-1, able to be used as an all-in-one. Did you touch on that in the previous video reviewing these, or is it not suggested?

You can use them as an AIO, Pocket, AI2, a cover alone, etc

Do you know how they hold up in each state of use? I mean, for such a versatile diaper at that price, it’s definitely worth the purchase price, but I’m just curious if their performance is great all around, or better one way over another.

Also, do you know what size/weight they begin fitting at? I cannot seem to find that information, even on their site. :/

I don’t know all of those answers, maybe try reaching out on Facebook to the company?

I just got a response to my email to the company:

Thanks for the email! And I’m happy to help!
They are a one-size diaper and I’ve used them on both my last babies at birth. My little girl was 6lbs and they fit well. And also on my almost 10lb little boy. They hold a lot of absorbency which is good because some newborns can be heavy wetters.
My girl is 2.5 now and they still fit her with room to grow.
So we say they go from 7-35lbs.

    Hope that helps a bit!!”
