Reusable Bag Round-up

I love to research purchases, and in light of my recent post on reusable bags, I decided I would round-up some of the wonderful reusable bags out there.  Some of these I have tried and use myself, others are ones I thought were neat!  I think the key to remembering to use your bags is having them around, everywhere.  I have bags in my car, bags in my diaper bag, bags on the closet door handle, and bags in bags!  Grocery shopping is easy because you plan to go and remember to bring the bags.  Impromptu shopping means you don’t always plan to bring your bags.  That is why I love the selection of compact nylon bags that can be stored in your diaper bag.  I always have a Chico bag or other small nylon bag handy!  These days there is a ton of variety!  I picked a few from DDL affiliate, Amazon.com.

I am starting with my favorite!

Chico Bag

Chico Bag

ChicoBag Reusable Nylon Bags So these are by far my favorite reusable bags.  They are easy to use and compact.  I love these more for general shopping because they fit in my purse (I always keep 2 in my diaper bag)  They also have a carabener to attach to your bag and a drawstring that can be used to loop around your wrist if you are running into the store.  5.00 each.

flip and tumble

flip and tumble

flip & tumble 24-7 Reusable Bag- The Flip and Tumble bag is not one I have tried.  It is a nylon bag that you can roll up into a ball so it is easy to use. 12.00.

Blue Avocado Reusable Bag

Blue Avocado Reusable Bag

BlueAvocado Reusable Bag- These are very similar to Chico bags, compact and can be stuffed in a small pouch.  But they come in really pretty patterns!  I am a sucker for that!  Haven’t tried them but love this pretty flower pattern.  20.00 for 2.

Canvas Grocery Tote

Canvas Grocery Tote

Reusable Grocery Tote - I have a set of 6 of these canvas grocery totes.  When I decided to switch over I knew I wanted non brand specific bags I could use at any store, and a matching set.  They fold up nicely and hold a ton!  They have a shape so they are easy to load with groceries.  I keep them in one bag and have that in my car or hanging from my coat closet door so I never forget them (almost never).  These are really the best for groceries! 10.00 for 6.

Don’t forget about Envirosax! Their my new favorite! Hold so much and has it’s own little carrying bag so I can toss it in the diaper bag. I’ve always got it with me so if I forget to bring bags, it’s there :)

I have the blue avocado bag that’s made for cold stuff – it holds SO much, and is super sturdy. My other go-to bags are canvas bags from farmer’s markets all over the country – I try to go to a farmer’s market wherever I travel.

I have a couple of the Flip and Tumple bags and love them! They come in really pretty colors! I also am a sucker for a pretty pattern or print, it just brightens my day! The Blue Avacado are so cute, I may have to buy some!

I have a chico bag, I got it as a freebie from diaper shops, we used it to hold parade candy instead of a plastic sack last month. Bonus you can advertise cloth diapers and be cloth-bagging it all at once. I have a large one from Aldi, 2 from WalMart and another from Sunshine diapers I think, which is smaller. I also save the plastic bags I get and recycle them if I don’t find use for them. I also have 2 plastic cold bags from Aldi. They all sit in my pantry, so when I go to see what I need to ‘stock up’ on, I see the bags and put them with my grocery list. If I just need a few things, I grab the smaller bags, and I’ve taken to putting the chico one in my purse or diaper bag so I have it with me. We get paper ones every once in a while from a local grocery store and keep them for either recycling paper, or reuse for bread at the store, since it’s nice to keep it upright and most of my other bags collapse. I don’t worry about the ‘brand’, I’m fairly certain no one cares what kind of bag I use anywhere. I did have one compliment when the cashier at Aldi saw my bags a month or two ago, she said, good, you’re prepared.

Definitely try the Envirosax if you haven’t yet. I love them. I have two in my diaper bag at all times. They are great for dirty clothes too.

I have a stash of reusable bags that I’ve accumulated over the last few years for free. One was a set of canvas bags I was given for Christmas one year, and the others were all free!

I recently got some Flip & Tumble’s and they are SO GREAT! Even though I love the resusable grocery totes, I forget mine in the car often. Now that I have the Flip & Tumble’s I can keep them in my purse or diaper bag…it works great! And they’re super easy to roll/scrunch up and get back in their little pouch! I got mine from The Green Baby Store – http://shop.thegreenbabystore.com/Flip-and-Tumble-Reusable-Shopping-Bags-Flip-Tumble.htm

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my Envirosax bags! I got a gorgeous cat one for my purse and a five pack of the most adorable Sesame Street characters!
They are about the same size as Chicco bags and roll up just as small.
