Libman Freedom Spray Mop Review and Giveaway *closed*

I recently had the opportunity to review the Libman Freedom Spray Mop.  I don’t usually jump at the chance to review a mop, or the other random pitches that come into my inbox.   If I did, my blog would look a lot different!  I decided to review this mop because it had some really cool, unique, and “green” features that I wanted in a mop.’

Why is this mop so cool?

Reason 1: No disposable floor pads!

I have long ago ditched my Swiffer in favor of mops  that let me reuse cloth pads.  I hated the idea that I was a. created uneccesary waste and b. throwing away my money, literally.  It was a mind shift for me because often times you feel things are cleaner when you use a disposable pad (same with cleaning with paper towels).  I tried a few other mops.  I tried the sponge mop, which was a pain.  I never could get the hang of wringing it out.  I tried the stringy mop and that was a total bust.  NEVER AGAIN.  I also tried a steam mop.  This is nice to have around but not practical for quick messes.  My toddler’s name may as well be “Quick Mess.”

Reason 2: No batteries or plugs required!

One mop I have been using requires being plugged in.  It is heavy because it is also a vacuum.  This can be handy, but honestly, since I got a roomba I never, ever vacuum.  So basically I am pushing around a heavier mop than I need to.  The spray function on the Libman Freedom Mop is a trigger spray with an easy to grip handle.  You use your 4 fingers, not 1, so it isn’t tiring.  You control how much is coming out at a time, and you don’t need a bucket full of dirty water.

Reason 3:  You don’t have to buy floor solution!

The other thing I HATE about most mops in this category is that they have a specific cleaning solution that is needed.  I discovered the hard way…  They either have replaceable bottles that load into the mop itself or a special filter that won’t work with other solutions.  I tried rigging a swiffer once, they make it impossible because they want you to buy more of their product!  Not only are you wasting plastic, you are wasting more money!  The removeable container on the Libman Freedom Mop is super easy to refill with any solution you desire.  I have hard wood floors so I use a vinegar and water solution.   This is crazy cheap!  I will never have to go to Amazon.com and buy the special solution my other mop required.

Reason 4:  Swivel Head!

The Libman Freedom Mop has a swivel head that works beautifully around my toilets.  I have been having a hard time with my old mop and am happy to report the mop head is small enough to fit around the toilet and swivels to get it clean all around!

Reason 5: Affordability!

You can find the Libman Spray Mop in your local retailers for the suggested retail price of 19.99-24.99.   Not bad, especially when you realize you never need to buy solution!  The mop pads say they last 50 washes, but I think they might go longer than that.  So, eventually you will need new ones but that is paltry compared to boxes of disposable pads!

The only negative comment I have is that the mop head isn’t as absorbent as I would like.  I did use a different microfiber pad and I enjoyed it more.  I have only washed the mop pads 3 times so I am hoping a few more washes will make it more absorbent!  Still, this has been an excellent addition to my cleaning arsenal!

I have a swiffer wet jet and I hate it. It doesn’t get the floor clean and the solution leaves my floor sticky. I also have a sponge mop, but it doesn’t get in the nooks and crannies as good as I’d like, so right now I do it on my hands and knees… I’d LOVE to win this mop!

My mop has a sprayer but it is not reuseable and I can’t just use my own solution.

I don’t have a mop actually! Same reasons you didn’t like the ones you tried. This preggo just gets down and scrubs up after two toddlers on hands and knees with a rag and vinegar water. So glad to have learned about this mop!

this seems like the solution I have been looking for. I shared it on facebook.

Sara I’m in the same situation. We have the swiffer, (both the wet and the dry one). Anyway, I’m not entirely happy with it. When I need to mop, esp bathroom, I feel like I have to get on hands and knees to get the job done. :-(

This would be something to try.

Embarassed to say how long it’s been since my floor was mopped. Perhaps this is my salvation :-)

Ugh, I alternate between using a swiffer and feeling guilty about throwing the pad away and using another reusable swiffer-type mop that’s too big to get into even medium-sized spaces. I saw a commercial for the libman mop the other and it seems perfect!

No current mop. I do the kitchen floor with a spray bottle and a microfiber cloth on a regular swiffer. This looks perfect.

i too have tried all sorts of mops and have not found one that just fits. i am sad to say that i am currently using the swiffer wet jet…just easier for quick messes and more convienent all around. i do cringe every time i have to buy more pads and cleaning solution and i sometimes wonder what is actually in that solution? i saw this mop on a tv commercial and thought “how genius”! i was going to go out and get one as soon as i run out of pads and cleaning solution but i would LOVE to win one! :)

  • Jessica F.

Either have to lug around a slushy mop bucket or use my swiffer, which is far from “green”.

I have a Hahn steam mop that does a great job, but I hate that I have to plug it in. It’s just not convenient for quick clean ups so I’d love to have a Libman freedom mop.

I have a mop that I can wash in the washing machine but it is SO hard to get off ! It is one of those ones with little scraps, as I call them! I also have a steam mop but don’t like using that around the kids when they are awake. I love that there is a reusable pad on the Libman mop!

This thing looks awesome! Okay…as awesome as a mop can get! I have an old clorox mop that requires the bottle of cleaner and pads- I hate it! I’ve been buying store brand premoistened cleaning cloths instead, which is cheaper but I am constantly on the lookout for something better. I’m waiting until your giveaway is over and if I don’t win, I’m heading straight to the store to buy one! Thank you!

We currently have a sponge mop. The sponge part gets stinky and does not swivel. I would love to try the Libman Freedom mop.

What I hate about my current mop is the flimsy handle – I broke it today while mopping :(
I also don’t like that it does not swivel or allow me to get into tight spaces in the bathroom.

I also bought a Libman Freedom Mop and I love it but if you live in the part of Mn. where I live there are no stores that sell the extra pads and if you order them over the internet they are very expensive.
