2014 was a great year for cloth diapering and I’m listing my favorite things from the past 12 months. You might be surprised by some things listed, and maybe you forgot all about a few. Either way I’m sure you’ll find a few things to love!
[typography font=”Crafty Girls” size=”20″ size_format=”px”]Favorite Diaper Print -[/typography] Louis by bumGenius
This print was hinted at yesterday and was unveiled today, just in time (I had planned to post this today… with a different print in mind as my favorite) to make the list. A dedicated DDL reader would know that my favorite thing other than cloth diapers is mid century modern furniture and housewares. The new Limited Edition Louis (a Cotton babies Exclusive) for the Genius Series was inspired by Louis Armstrong. The graphics and coloring feel right at home in the 1950’s which is why this print is my pick for 2014, even if it just released days before 2015. Honorable mentions- Up and Away from GroVia, The Sea Adventure by Smartbottoms for Lil’ Tulips and Tots Bots Birthday, Geo from Blueberry.
[typography font=”Crafty Girls” size=”20″ size_format=”px”]Favorite Diaper-[/typography]
Thirsties came out with their simple, easy to use All in One that replaces their Duo All in One diapers and we loved them at first sight! The All in One boasts a soaker attached at one end of microfiber topped with stay dry microfleece and a 3 step rise. Honorable mention-
[typography font=”Crafty Girls” size=”20″ size_format=”px”]Favorite Newborn-[/typography] Tushmate Newborn
Newborn cloth diapers saw an innovative new addition with the Tushmate newborn. It’s not often the design of a diaper impresses and surprises me but this one did. We have a review and coming next week. Honorable mention –.
[typography font=”Crafty Girls” size=”20″ size_format=”px”]Favorite Fitted-[/typography]
Flannel prints are great for cloth diapers but so often they look worse for wear soon. Bummis has made their own flannel that fades slower, great news for flannel lovers! It released in 2014 and thanks to their fun prints and quality they are a 2014 DDL Favorite! Honorable mention- Orange Diaper Co. Loops.
[typography font=”Crafty Girls” size=”20″ size_format=”px”]Favorite Full Size Pail/Wet Bag-[/typography] Funky Fluff Hanging Diaper Pail
Another brilliantly simple product, the Flunky Fluff hanging wet bag can work several different ways and the pleats give you more storage room.
[typography font=”Crafty Girls” size=”20″ size_format=”px”]Favorite Travel Wet Bag-[/typography]
I don’t think the brand is new, and the product itself may not even be new but it’s new to me so I HAD to add the Daytripper from Logan and Lenora. I love small and smart additions like the buckle on the handle, giving you the option to clip your bag to the stroller. The bags themselves are well made and stylish plus it’s a wet/dry bag. I foresee these bags becoming more popular in 2015.
[typography font=”Crafty Girls” size=”20″ size_format=”px”]Favorite Wrap-[/typography] Ovolo Wraps
From the heart and mind of Kim Ormsby, creator of GroVia products, comes Ovolo wraps. These woven wraps come in classic and timeless patterns including Fletching (above) that won me over. I couldn’t think of another wrap I loved more from 2014.
[typography font=”Crafty Girls” size=”20″ size_format=”px”]Favorite SSC- [/typography]Boba #wearallthebabies SSC
2014 may have been ‘The Year of TheBabyGuyNYC” because he was #allovertheinternet and trying to #breaktheinternet; he even designed his own baby carrier for Boba. Boba is an SCC I’ve loved for years and the 4g has made great improvements (love the included newborn harness!). My love of #hashtags, love of Jamie TheBabyGuyNYC, and love of Boba made this carrier a no brainer pick. Honorable Mention- Onya Cruiser in Lapis.
[typography font=”Crafty Girls” size=”20″ size_format=”px”]Favorite Sling- [/typography]Sakura Bloom by Shabd Shibori
The first time I saw this sling online I fell in love, but it wasn’t until seeing it worn in person that it was head over heels for me. The Shabd Shibori line included 4 patterns all in the same color scheme and tie-die style. Oh if only I had a baby to wear one in! Even if I did, these didn’t last long and were only available at brick and mortar retailers. Honorable Mention- Tula RingSling
[typography font=”Crafty Girls” size=”20″ size_format=”px”]Favorite Diaper Bag-[/typography] JuJuBe Legacy Line
JuJuBe has a rabid fan following and now I know why! These babies pack a ton of function and even more fashion. Their Legacy Line is TDF. I no longer use a diaper bag but I sure as heck bought a paci-pod from the line-up and repurposed it! I imagine Gwen Stefani carrying anything from this line and rocking it all day long. Honorable Mention- Daddy & Co. (formerly Go GaGa) Slider bag.
[typography font=”Crafty Girls” size=”20″ size_format=”px”]Favorite Accessory-[/typography]
Spray Pal and Sticky Bellies teamed up for a set of cloth diaper advocacy stickers for baby to wear in photos! Just like the Sticky Bellies for keepsake monthly photos these can be put on your baby’s onesie for their first cloth diaper photo opp!
